Point at a discussion thread, get a podcast episode. Not a read-aloud: a debate
between the positions people in the thread actually held, argued out loud.
A thread with four hundred comments has maybe five arguments in it, held with wildly
different amounts of support. Sloppod finds those clusters, gives each one a speaker, and
weights their airtime by how much of the room actually stood behind them. A thread that went
ninety-ten produces an episode that sounds ninety-ten.
How an episode gets made
You paste a link: a Reddit thread, a Hacker News item, an Instagram post, a public
Facebook post, or an ordinary article. Nothing to install, and no account anywhere.
Anything in it that is a picture gets transcribed, not described.
A model reads the whole discussion and reports what kind of thing it is, and how long it can
honestly support being.
The positions become personas, with their real weight attached.
They argue. A referee checks the airtime against the weights while the model is still on the
line, and sends it back if the show's own premise is failing.
Voices, a mix that is measured rather than predicted, and it lands in your podcast app.
What it refuses to do
Describe what it cannot see.Images, video, PDFs and article links arrive as links that nothing fetches. A screenshot
of writing is transcribed, because that genuinely closes the gap and the words are quotable. A
photograph is not described, because a description is an interpretation, and it would land in
the source material as the fact five personas then argue from.
Fill the time.Running short is never the fault. The only way to fill a budget on a thread that has run
out of disagreement is to invent one, so the script stops when the argument does.
Report a vote that the platform does not have.Reddit has up and down. Instagram has likes and no way at all to push a comment down.
Hacker News publishes no per-comment score. Each source declares which of those it is, and a
count is left absent rather than reported as zero, because a zero is a lie in the shape of a
measurement.
Name anybody.Comment authors reach the model as u1, u2, u3. A persona can never be a named account.
Nothing that was not posted publicly is ingested at all.
